THE FIRST SKATEPARK AND SCHOOL FOR SKATE IN MORRO DA PROVIDÊNCIA

Since 2019, skateboarding has been part of our educational program thanks to local and international partners, acting as an agent of social transformation.

Noticing the positive behavioral changes in our participants since practicing, and the lack of a suitable place for our training practices, we had the idea of ​​building our own skatepark.

The Santo Skate Park is a construction carried out by Casa Amarela Providência in 2022 together with the Santo Skate project (@santo_skate) for its participants, residents and all skaters in town. With it, we seek to guarantee the right of children and teenagers to access quality sporting, educational and leisure entertainment.

The skatepark was built by Tangente Skate Parks and opened in August 2022.

We already have 2 new classes and an integration project where we will be inviting projects from other communities to train with us.

In addition, the space will be a place for diverse cultural actions that dialogue with our pedagogical objectives and purpose as a whole.

Almost all the children enrolled in the skateboarding project are now also enrolled in literacy and tutoring at Casa Amarela.
